The School Day

The gates are open at 8:40 am and you are encouraged to send your child straight to their class, where their teacher will have a morning task waiting for the children to complete. This is usually a quick 10 minute task to get the children thinking. It allows the teachers time to talk to every child and give them a positive start to their day.  All children should aim to arrive in their class by 8.50 am.  The register will close at 9.00 am and any children arriving after this time will need to be signed in by an adult at the school office.

Please note the gates will never be opened before 8.40 am and there are no members of staff available to supervise your child before this time. We therefore ask you not to send your child to school before 8:40 am, or to leave them unsupervised in the school grounds at any time.

We ask parents to leave their children at the classroom door. We want the children to independently hang up their coats and put their things away. We also want the children to have time with their teachers to enable a positive start to the day.

Teachers are always available at the end of the day for an informal chat or to make an appointment for a specific meeting.
