Friends of Nythe School (FONS) are a group of volunteers who help the school by raising money via events, such as fetes, pamper evenings, sales, quiz nights and raffles. FONS have been running for over 25 years and have raised tens of thousands of pounds in that time.
FONS is a small group, consisting of both parents and teachers who raise money for additional, non-funded items to improve provision for the pupils at Nythe Primary School, such as playground items and sports equipment. FONS also fund key experiences for the children, such as pantomimes and a visit from a Science Dome.
We are always looking for new members to join FONS and assist us with new ideas and future events that we will be planning. Without the help of our members, we are unable to plan future and bigger events. You don’t have to give up lots of time to support FONS – we generally gather once a term for a short meeting, usually straight from school, to discuss upcoming events and other ideas.
If you would prefer not to join the committee, but would be willing to help out at events (for example, by running a stall at the summer fete or selling drinks at the school nativity) then we can add you to our parent helper list. This means that we will contact you when an event is coming up to see if you are able to assist. It’s the ideal way to help the school without committing yourself to extra work!
If you are interested in helping, please contact the school office.
