School Council

Meet our School Council

Our School Council consists of a democratically elected group of children who aim to give every child in the school a voice.

It is made up of 12 children, two from each year from Y1-Y6. At the beginning of each academic year all children are encouraged to put themselves forward as a representative on the School Council. All they need to have is a manifesto and the belief that they will have a confident and positive influence on their school environment.

Once elected the School Council look at areas to focus upon for that academic year. They think about what they want to achieve and how it can improve the school. Every child in the school is encouraged to come up with ideas that would enhance their environment and these are then fed back to the Principal via the School Council and the School Council Lead. Children attend meetings regularly throughout the year.

Roles of Chair, Vice Chair and Note Taker are initially voted in at the first council meeting.
