Extra curricular and enrichment

We offer a wide-range of clubs at our school that are run by our teachers and outside agencies.

The performing arts are very important at Nythe Primary School. There is a high level of expertise at the school and examples of clubs offered include KS1 and KS2 choirs, street dance and Lamda drama lessons. We offer the opportunity to extend our performing arts education through participation in local festivals, including Swindon Music Festival and Swindon Music Service Singing Festivals, as well as performances further afield. Children will be given opportunities to perform at Swindon Arts Centre, the Platform, the Wyvern Theatre, Marlborough College Chapel and further afield.

Sport is also extremely popular and we are lucky to have an extremely high level of expertise at the school in this area. Clubs offered include football, dodgeball, multi skills, hockey and tag rugby. We are also pleased to provide opportunities for links with Swindon Primary Schools Football Association, Swindon Town Football Club and Swindon Hockey Club.

We are always seeking to develop and enhance our provision. Club timetables are reviewed termly.

Residential Trips

At Nythe Primary School, we believe that residential trips provide an opportunity to learn beyond the classroom.  All activities enable children to further develop their resilience, communication and problem solving skills, building upon skills taught and developed in the school.  Trips foster independence and self-confidence and provide children with a sense of achievement.

At Nythe Primary School, Year 3 and 4 are offered the opportunity for an overnight stay in school and Year 6 spend time away.

Year 6

In Year 6, we visit Buddens Activity Centre that lies in the heart of the historic and beautiful Isle of Purbeck and Jurassic Coast, boasting 96 acres of natural countryside, heathland, woodland and plantations. Our Year 6 will have the opportunity to explore the natural environment and take part in a once in a lifetime activity programme in a stunning setting. There is plenty of scope for our pupils to display leadership, teamwork, resilience and passion.
